I graduated from PHS in 2012 and the primary reason I'm posting this is to provide a more recent review. Some of the staffing has chanced since my attendance but not by much. While I was there I took honors where available and AP history. Along with those classes I took a good deal of technical classes there including CAD and 3D animation. These areas are where PHS shines, they had, and I maintain that they still do, an EXCELLENT technical education department. By the time I graduated I learned a large amount about Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk 3DS Max, AUTO CAD, as well as various video editors. Some areas where I found the teaching to be subpar would be in a few of the sciences, mainly the lower, introductory sciences you'd take as a freshmen. Above that we had some great teachers, my chemistry teacher held a doctorate in pharmaceuticals and my Physics teacher was a submarine veteran. One other area where quality was varied was the English department. My math teachers were excellent as well as history teachers. The biggest problem that I had there really was the students. Some are VERY disrespectful with no idea how important an education is and the few ruin it for the many,

The faculty is rude. Just plain rude. The academics are just, ridiculous. I agree with Carissa, you can pass without doing anything, they don't even challenge you. The majority of teachers don't care about their jobs or their students. Today I couldn't attend a pep rally and I got sung that I had no spirit and was told rudely goodbye. It was for personal reasons. What I'm trying to get across is the faculty is just as bad as the students. There is so much disrespect not only from the majority of teachers but from the kids as well. It's so irritating. There is hardly any parent involvement, it's a sad excuse for a school, honestly.
