CES was excellent but JJIS disappoints on every level, especially the administration.

JJIS is an amazing school filled with wonderful staff and students. JJIS is a HOT school, Higher Order of Thinking. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to participate in a cross over form of education that incorporates a theme and expands it to all forms of curriculum. JJIS is also a leader in student and staff participation in a wide variety of community projects. JJIS also has an amazing selection of enrichment programs called production companies that all students actively participate in. These range from Unified sports, student run government, productions and various other groups involved in learning sign language to collecting pet product donations. An amazing enthusiastic student body that is led by a dynamic team of teachers and administration.

This is a wonderful school which focuses on the students and their learning. JJIS offers artist in residence, cultural assemblies and enrichment activities through their production companies for the students. They hold schoolwide town meetings which are completely run by the students, which incorporates, literature ,music, math and art.

JJIS is a great school. We have one attending 5th grade with one to move over there in 2015. Our 3rd grade experience was fantastic! Highly supportive and encouraging teacher, challenged our child. Our child was doing above grade level math and reading as extra work. The production companies are great, the kids learn new things and how to present them via alternate means. Our child learned sign language in 3rd grade in production company and was coming home and teaching it to our second child. Amazing! The school is in very good shape as it was overhauled 2005/2006. Our child wrote numerous reports in 4th grade, at least one per month, several times had to turn in 2 per month. JJIS is a HOT school, they use musicians, artists, puppeteers to help teach the kids which frequently results in "specials". There is a student government as well. As far as specialized care. I can think of instances where the same para remains with the student all through CES and JJIS. Our child remains challenged. IN OTHER WORDS I don't find the CURRICULUM lacking. Special programs got cut this year, but with several retirement communities in town how can you pass a budget?
