I am proud to be an active part of the West District School community. The teachers are committed to providing each child the necessary skills to do their personal best. The administration is just as committed. There is a strong sense of community and "tiger" pride among the staff, students, and parents. It is refreshing to see the students respect for themselves, classmates, teachers, and school. It is great to be part of a school that provides a challenging top-knotch education along with molding outstanding individuals!!

WDS is an amazing school. The teachers are wonderful and genuinely care about the kids. I do not feel that there is pressure to "keep up with the Jonses" here. While that is very true in other parts of the town but what I love about WDS is that the is no pretension. The only goal is to help the children become great students who love school. This is the basis for the rest of their academic careers so that goal counts for a lot. The children love the school, they literally beam with pride during assemblies, especially the Tumbling Tigers one. I love this school and believe that my kids are getting a great education. WDS is a stellar school, filled with love, focused on your child's success. What more could you ask for?

I feel West District Elementary School does a great job at bringing those with special needs into the regular classroom and supports other regular classroom student's education about those with special needs. I have not gotten any reports of others mistreating our special needs seven year old, in fact another student has done extra credit to be able to come to our son's SLC (Special Learning Class) to support him and help him. Parent's with special needs children are always concerned with how their child will do in the world and society. Supporting other children's education about those with special needs will in time, albeit a long time, help to defray the stigma of society towards those with special needs. The special needs teacher and her support staff are excellent and support our son and protect him as well as we do.

We love West District! The teachers are excellent! Be prepared, however; this is a traditional New England school so be prepared for the phony PTO parents who always have to have a smile on their faces and keep up with the Joneses. Otherwise a great atmosphere and our kids did fine there. No diversity; very whitebread community.
