Around Bal Harbour
The Perfect Sunday
Sundays are for the beaches along Atlantic Way. A short walk and your toes will be covered in sand. Although most of the beachfront is private property with access from the hotels and condos, most people can find their way to the public Surfside Beach. The shops will be in full bloom on a Sunday as it is the best day to do some high-end boutique shopping. Outdoor cafes and restaurants offer brunch specials and the smell of delicious food fills the air. Residents are often seen enjoying bottomless mimosas sipped in the humid heat while the ocean breeze sweeps by with welcoming relief.
Where to Eat
The restaurants are exceptional in Bal Harbour. The luxury hotels have four-star restaurants located within their interior, and the Shops at Bal Harbour on Collins Avenue has some of the most elegant restaurants and fine dining. There are upscale French, Asian, and American cuisines, but expect to pay more for your dining experience.
Where to Live
Bal Harbour is less than a half square mile in circumference, and a majority of the residents live in high-rise or mid-rise condo buildings. Few single-family homes are located in the area, and those that are present are luxurious and pricey. Bal Harbour is its own governing body having its own law enforcement and city government. Much of the taxes stay within the community and it shows in the manicured lawns, well-kept streets, and clean green spaces. Every home is within walking distance to the beach or shopping center.
Friday Night Fun
Friday night in Bal Harbour becomes the dinner date capital. The restaurants with internationally acclaimed chefs are filled with patrons waiting for their name to be called for the next available table. It is a fashion show from the young to the old, with no shortage of beautiful people. Music plays over the large crowds, and it soon becomes a popular night scene.
What You'll See

Expect to see fancy import cars like Range Rovers and Mercedes lined-up at valet stations for the hotels and boutiques. You’ll also see residents walking their primed pets down the block as well as joggers passing by on a morning run.
