Where to Live

Due to the area’s size, your housing options vary. To the far northwest, you will encounter the non-incorporated town of Baldwin, featuring largely single-family homes in a rural setting. Scattered throughout the rest of the community are mainly single-story houses with modest ornamentation. Anywhere you live, you’re never too far away from downtown or the airport.

Aside from traditional American cuisine, you will find a multitude of convenient options at the River City Marketplace. Your options here are elegant seafood eateries and high-end bars featuring the best in craft brews and cocktails. If you’re looking for something cheap and quick, find a quality meal at any of the fast food options nearby.

What You'll See

Young families and working professionals dominate the area. Near Northwest is widely known for the various green spaces that dominate area. Industrial parks occupy a large portion of the southwestern and central sections, and act as one of the largest sources of employment in the area. With close proximity to Jacksonville International Airport, it’s not uncommon to see tourists frequenting the area.

Friday Night Fun

Head over to the River City Marketplace for a quick brew with your work buddies, or buy a ticket at the cinema to see a movie with your date. There’s plenty of sushi options available, but, if you’re not a seafood person, don’t worry – there are a variety of places to choose from.

The Perfect Sunday

Many of the locals spend their recreational time in either the Urban Core or the River City Marketplace. Alternatively, Baldwin offers a “Rail Trail” option, part of a national network, where you enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon hike. A number of subdivisions offer pool and tennis amenities, and it’s not uncommon to find families spending their days here on a Sunday afternoon.
