My husband and I knew from day one that this school was at best, below average. The first day left me feeling uneasy. My daughters teacher was cold, uncaring and insensitive. Within the first week our kindergartner came home with a quarter sized knot on her head and scrapes on her hands and knees, with NO letter of a explanation why from the teacher. Although it was an accident on the play ground ,she should have let me know , especially because she hit her head. A few weeks later i noticed a bruise in the middle of my daughters chest and again no letter. I called the teacher again and told her that I understand accidents happen but I just wanted to know how and why and what steps she took to help my daughter. It happened another time, my daughter came home with an ice pack and a bruise under her eye. I then called the teacher and principle again. I came to visit my daughter frequently for field trips and lunch and sat in with her class. My daughter did seem to like the school but being her first year at school she had nothing to compare it to. When my husband or I would visit for lunch ,we noticed how the children were treated by staff . We saw a kindergartner being grabbed by t

My child attended summer school @ Jax Heights & stated that they never want to see the school again. There was continual bullying. The issue was reported and nothing was done. The teacher was overwhelmed with behavior problems. Im sure she was unable to provide the extra help some of the children need. Im so done with the school!

AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL! This was the worst school I have ever had to deal with. My son was in private school (Father's Harbor) also AWFUL! and was suspended because he finally had enough of a bullying situation that had been festering and fought back. Well, because I was not going to pay for priviledge of my son being bullied, he was remove from this school. This left me with 2 options: go to another private school or enroll in the neighborhood school (Jax Heights). Needless to say, Jax Heights was no better, in fact worse. There is a SERIOUS bullying issue there. My son was there for 4 months and I had to meet with the teachers and principal every other week for the entire time because of the hoodlums that attend this school. The faculty did nothing to correct the problem. If you miss the magnet lottery and you can't afford private, get 2 or 3 jobs to afford better schooling than this. You will be better off and your child will thank you. Again, don't go to Jax Heights.

I am a little confused about the rating system (stars). I read the comments and the average stars are 1. Only 2 people note a 3 and 4 star rating yet the listing is that of a 3 star school. With 3 positives and 3 times as many complaints I wonder if I can rely on the rating that is supported by reviews by school staff.
