The last few years this school has gotten more violent and bullying rampant. Disappointed that faculty and staff here has started to fail our children in this manor. Either fire the ones not following policy or let this school increasingly get worse

In the 2 years I have been with this school, I find the teachers to be caring, flexible and wanting to see all students achieve and at times giving up their week nights and weekends to make sure students are successful. The band teacher Mr. Scaccia has brought so much to the students and making their self-esteem soar by being one of the best bands in the county/state. The principal is caring and supports all students including those who are in the LBGTQ community. The assistant principal, Mr. Doster works with students in discipline and he is succeeding with curbing bullying issues. The school has an excellent staff working to improve safety issues and updating when needed the policies. The counselors are by far the best of the best, they work hard with caseloads of up to 500 students each. Many days there will be several staying after school hours to do paperwork because they put the students as their first priority. Counselors give up weekends and their personal time with their family when school activities are involved or making sure all seniors are able to graduate. The school is addressing the mental health of the students although because of funding they are losing the only employed mental health specialist in the county after this school year. NSBHS also has a wonderful mentoring program with the head of the mentors bringing so much to our students, including academic support, emotional support and bringing adults from our community to work with our students. Unfortunately we are losing this wonderful person too and by the way this position she has been working in for the past 13 years has been in volunteering her services. NSBHS is one of the best high schools in the county regarding the opportunities they have for students and the staff that is underpaid and overworked.

This is a beautiful new, state of the art technology school. The teachers and administrators are awesome and the students are well rounded, respectful, and good kids. It is not over crowded, it is safe and in a great location. The school offers many great academies that are open to all of the students, like medical, engineering, culinary, sports marketing, veterinary, law enforcement and art. They offer AP classes and students can dual enroll, with the college located right across the street! This is by far better than the IB program which is limited to only the top 5%of students and does not get them college credits like the dual enrollment and AP classes. I would highly recommend this high school over many in the county.

I have been very happy overall with NSBHS. The teachers my kids have, have been great. I love the academy options. The Band program is fantastic! There's a lot of school spirit as well.
