dont fall for the trap of taking ap human geography, that class is hard. they want every freshman to take it so that their ap participation rate is at 100 percent.

Both of my children attend PBHS. This is the BEST high school in Broward County (google US News and World Reports). They are having a wonderful High School experience in a safe learning environment. No fights or drama. This is a full magnet school and you can consider yourself lucky if you get in through the lottery.

Horrible, I strongly regret sending my child. They will not have the full blown High School experience. They have no lockers, the school is very clickie even with the staff. Sports are not great, if your child is into water polo or volleyball, their team will be ok. Football or anything else is the complete worst. No funding from Booster club and the teams are not well equipped even with all the affluent parents at the school. Their magnet program selection is questionable. I have a few parent tell me their kid was able to get in with a 2 while another parent who's kid had 4 and 3 with a above 3.5 gpa was not able to get in, he was an african american student. I believe their magnet program is based of a certain quota for minorities once that is filled they have to fill the rest of the school of caucasians even if they do not score well on FSA, according to my child some cannot even read correctly and have no business being at that school if they are so selective on academic achievements. Yes they are full of themselves and they should not be. That day off, Friday, is just because they do not have the financial support to have a 5th day. The kids do not get a day off, they are really doing classwork at home for a full 7-8 hours just like a normal day at school. Student morale is non existing and lack of fun high school activities participation such as pep rallies, first day of school and such. Their gym is very small and steps on an incline, be careful you do not roll down. This school began as an all white school years and years ago, then they bused in kids from other areas. Since they were diverse, caucasian parents began withdrawing. Eventually it became a school for trouble and pregnant student to go to, it was closed for some time and they reopen with the umbrella of magnet program so they can have control on who they select.

This is an excellent school. All 3 of my children attended with great results.
