Caring teachers. ESE Liaison is engaged and effective. Principal and asst Principal appears to be effective leaders. The school is a bit run down but clean and safe.

This is a nice neighborhood school. Everyone smiles a lot there. Teachers are nice and helpful to students. Mr. LeClair is a great Principal, too. The school has terrific programs. This week, almost half the student body dressed up with ties, jackets, and dressy clothes just to honor one of their teachers. There's a lot of caring and mutual respect.

This school is horrible. The kids find anything they can to start rumors about you. Anything they can to call you racist. The fighting is absolutely ridiculous. Children can't focus on their studies when their so worried about how's going to cause problems with them next. Don't send your kids here. The staff obviously can't control the children and turn a blind eye.

So apparently around here they choose the gifted program kids in 5th grade and according to the school there is no way to get in after that. Even if you moved here after 5th grade, even if you got straight A's in 6th grade and almost aced the FCAT, they'll put you in 1 advanced class as a "reward" in seventh grade and up to three advanced classes in 8th. They will not, however, let him into the gifted program since he wasn't selected in 5th grade. Oh, and he was chosen by all his teachers for National Junior Honor Society since he leads the way, always does the right thing, and volunteers to help the teachers. My son says his teachers are so lazy that they leave the classroom in frustration when the kids goof off, and they play catch in class and hit each other.
