H. L. Johnson Elementary School

Horrible aftercare program and hands down the most unqualified, apathetic elementary school principal ever. My child was taken away in an ambulance after being injured while unsupervised and NOT ONE OFFICIAL from the school called to check on her well-being. The teachers and the quality of the academic programs is above average and I am happy with the overall learning experience we have had in the last 5+ years, but changes really need to be made at the administrative level.

Gifted program seems to overload the kids with extra work rather then creating a more challenging curriculum. Kids are expected sit all day doing work. Young kids need to be able to have plenty of movement breaks.

I would not even offer one star.

The biggest reason we decided to buy our first home in Royal Palm Beach was because of the excellent ratings that HLJ had. We have 4 small children and wanted them to go to a highly rated school. We're really impressed with all of the help HLJ offers and are excited with the upcoming STEAM initiatives.
