Do not go to this school. I repeat, do not go to this school. I'm a student at azalea, and frankly my experience here has been horrendous! The only good thing here are the teachers, but the general staff are terrible. There's daily fist fights, as well as drug smuggling. Student-base is so bad, its impressive.
This school has fights daily, ruthless rotten kids from the south side are bused in and are a MAJOR problem in this school. Multiple robberies, fights, bullying and class disruption. I removed my student after his 2nd year at this school. We tried despite warnings to make it work. Teachers , principle and office staff were great to us, no problems there. The problem students and their lack of parenting is the issue. Until the school board starts to strictly enforce suspensions and expulsions with these problem students it is best to stay clear of this unsafe school.

We chose Azalea Middle first out of all other options in St. Petersburg. Even with a one hour each way bus commute, it's been an excellent decision. The principal is responsive and no-nonsense yet loving. The teachers have all chosen to be there and are excited! Our 6th grader has not seen or experienced anything like we may have expected from an "F" rated school. He loves it and is thriving! The advantage of its low rating is the additional resources such as the bus that will take kids home once after school programs are over.

Few teachers respond to emails even though they are "required" to do so. the Principal just blows you off if you ask a question she does not like.
