Bay Lake Elementary

Bay Lake is a very unorganized school. No one seems to communicate with each other. When there is an issue it is extremely hard to get someone to help get it resolved. You are always pushed off on to another person. Academically, I did not feel they were taught much, it was torn out papers from a work book here and there. At the end of the year ALL the workbooks ( math, reading, science) came home 100 pages left and only 2 pages completed! PE our child learned songs we would not have wanted them to learn, this was constant when asked what they did in PE. Music class was laughable year, they desperately need a better music teacher that can teach children, not someone who comes across as a babysitter. ART was probably the only "extra" that something was taught. I don't understand why the Brazilian culture chooses to send children to school without a word of English. It hurts the students that are trying to learn an education as well as the children socially. I don't see how this school rating could be accurate when more than half the students can't read/speak English to pass testing. No real school events, teachers whom do not want in-class help, PTO is a disaster.

Great environment, dedicated and engaged teachers, super active principal (Mrs. Kimble) always present, my kids love and are always thirsty for knowledge and culture.

Disappointing school overall. Lackluster mind set from ALL staff, no communication, after school offerings are VERY limited and the school events get cancelled ( without explanation a lot) or they leave a lot to be desired. FYI - Most of the kids attending only speak Portuguese language at this school. A class of 15 students and only 6 students spoke or had learned English.

Excellent Teacher and Administrative Personal that become A+ School . 100 % Recomendad !!!
