I absolutely love this school and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. It’s doesnt matter if if you’re in the I.B. Program or not, your child will receive a world class educations! The sports team are under new leadership (especially football) and they made it to the second round of the State Playoffs in his first year as coach. Scholarship offer totals were in the billions and they do an exceptional job nurturing and fosters tomorrow leaders, the students!

The IB program is tough but prepares students for college. The teachers go the extra mile to ensure that the students are successful in the program The entire county should be proud that this is offered in their area and the achievements of the students who participate

The IB Program at Douglas County High School offers one of the best high school educations anywhere in Georgia. The teachers all have post-secondary degrees and are extremely demanding. The program continues to generate record scholarship dollars (in the millions) each year with IB graduates attending every Ivy League school on the list. If you're looking for the best college preparatory program in the state, DCHS is the place. MY son graduated and entered college 3 credits shy of being a sophomore.

I am very disappointed with this school and the chaos Leadership allows. I was under the impression that this school would be top notch seeing that DCHS has an IB program. Little did I know how many IB students drop out of the program before the 12th grade. If that's not bad enough, I was very disappointed in the athletic programs (football in particular). The Coaches do not focus on the athletes academics but on winning games and sadly enough I haven t seen any improvement since my child graduated last year. The football coaching staff is a joke. Their coaching style includes encouraging fighting amongst teammates to promote what they call healthy frustration which makes the players hit harder. What happened to teaching the players how to be a TEAM. To make matters worse, the athletes morale is low. Having watched young men feel like quitting what is a lifetime dream because of the lack of leadership and inequality being displayed is disappointing. Having watched how the Leadership will allow parents to be deputized as coaches and show favoritism is degrading and unethical.I would advise more fathers to get involved by volunteering as a Community Coach (see GHSA website)
