East Point has grown rapidly over the past few years and continues to be recognized as a more affordable place to live compared to intown Atlanta. It’s also a “Camera Ready” designated city in Fulton County, and it’s not uncommon to see movies and TV shows being filmed here as a part of Atlanta’s booming film industry.

East Point is one of the most affordable suburbs in the metro Atlanta area. The cost of living in East Point is lower than both the Georgia and national averages, and the average home price in East Point is also lower than the national average.
East Point residents have access to convenient public transportation options. The city is located off of three major interstates and is home to the second stop on the MARTA rail line from the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, providing access to the red and gold train lines that run between the airport and downtown Atlanta. There are also several MARTA bus routes in East Point that connect the city to nearby areas. The airport is only five minutes away from East Point by train, and downtown is only about 10 minutes away by train.
East Point schools operate under the Fulton County School System and include nine elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools. High school students typically attend Tri-Cities High School or Westlake High School, and Point University, a private liberal arts university, has a campus in East Point. Other higher education options around downtown Atlanta, like Georgia State University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, are easily accessible from East Point.
Historic downtown East Point offers a range of excellent dining options and a variety of cuisine types. The East Point Farmers Market operates year-round in the downtown Commons Area, and downtown is also the site of several big festivals and seasonal events throughout the year. The city is home to 23 neighborhood parks and greenspaces, providing access to activities like tennis, basketball courts, volleyball and trail hiking, and the nearby Camp Creek Marketplace is home to shopping, restaurants, hotels and entertainment, providing plenty of entertainment and outdoor recreation for residents of East Point.
