I loveeeeee Woodward Mill and everyone employed there!! My daughter was in a horrific car accident that left her in the hospital for 19 days in PICU. The principal (Mr. Bender) and one assistant principal came to the hospital to visit with her and they helped her throughout the process of returning to school. I loved every single teacher she had, plus staff in the office, and the nurse Mrs. Bacon! Wonderful people! I will miss them when my third grader eventually goes into middle school!

I was under the impression that this was a great school. I was completely mis-informed. My child's teacher acts as if she can't see me when I walk in the school. I have to stand in front of her and speak to her for her to acknowledge me, and I'm very polite and nice. One second grade teacher acts as though she is teaching high school or college aged children and makes sure to voice her opinion on very sensitive subject matters, like the media and politics. Telling another student to just let their classmate fail, in front of that student is completely unacceptable behavior. This person made it quite clear during open house night, that they do not want to be teaching much longer. I do like the principal. After going to lunch with my children, I got a chance to see how other teachers and administrative personnel act and I have to say one second grade teacher was completely rude and had a disgusting attitude. She yelled at the students, was rude to their parents, tried to send the students in the lunchroom without letting them get their parents (until the VP stopped her). She even yelled with her mouth full of food in the lunchroom! I can't believe they will keep teachers like that on staff. I will do everything in my power to assure my children never have her as a teacher. Plus I do not receive enough communication, and what I get is always last minute! This is frustrating! If you need something on Wednesday, or there is an event on Wednesday, don't wait until Monday to send a note home! That may be okay for stay at home parents, but for those that have to work, a 2 day notice is not enough time. I really hope it gets better, but I'm not counting on it.

Staff is helpful. If your child is struggling they offer extra assistance to get your child where he/she should be so that they move on to the next grade level. Teachers encourage students to excel.
