I am very happy with the school overall. I agree that the curriculum could be more challenging for students that are advanced. The work that my son did in kindergarten was work that he already learned in private pre-K. Be prepared to supplement your own teaching at home to challenge your child if they are not being challenged in the classroom. Teaching shouldn't end when your child leaves school. It's up to you as a parent to reinforce what is learned in school and to stimulate your child intellectually at home.

Can't say enough about how much this school means to our family. The balance of diversity is wonderful. The school encourages community involvement, provides multiple opportunities to learn and grow in different ways. Kids of all levels of academic strengths and weaknesses are challenged at their individual level. And the teachers truly love what they do.

My oldest is in middle school now and my youngest is in 4th grade. I can only say good things about this school. Most of the teachers my both kids had were amazing, the target program (gifted) is strong and the atmosphere is great. My oldest had an IEP (he's in the spectrum for autism) until 4th grade. He had a lot of support from both staff and teachers. Once he was in fifth grade he got asked to join the gifted program and he now excels in all his AC classes in 7th grade. My 4th grader is also in the gifted program and has AC math and reading. and I believe she gets challenged and also gets the chance to develop her own logic and not only to a test like most schools do. Also the parents are very involved with the school, which helps making CHES so great.
