I THOUGHT I was doing the right thing by sending my son to this school. My son has a 504 plan and we had a seemingly great meeting to discuss his needs in the beginning of the school year. It was discussed previously the conditions and diagnosis my son had. I went to greatschools.com and based my decision on choosing this particular school off of those reviews when I obviously should’ve checked google reviews instead; now that I see they are more accurate based on my short-lived experience. I had such high hopes for my son’s success And progress at this school but unfortunately, I was wrong. After giving extremely detailed information regarding my child, being more active than most parents, and handling every situation brought to my attention regarding my child; he was ultimately being set up for failure, INTENTIONALLY. He had one issue that I would consider a big deal and it was handled. Unfortunately, he became a target after that. Knowing that he has ODD and ADHD, these people would call me EVERY WEEK (sometimes more than once per week) with the smallest issues that could’ve easily been resolved IF my instructions given in the 504 plan meeting were followed, but they weren’t. I believe that their goal was to write him up and suspend him for the most ridiculous things in attempts to have him sent to alternative school (which I had no idea about until I transferred him). It had gotten to the point where these people would email (not call) with horrible tones to tell me my child was suspended from school. I ALWAYS answer my phone, so there was no excuse. My opinion is if you have a child with any behavioral or mental disabilities, find a better, less discriminatory learning institution for you child. This place and most of the staff here aren’t built to help your child succeed when they have these types of issues. Their solution is to find a way to get them removed instead of finding ways to help them.

McCleskey is now STEM CERTIFIED! The culture is one of caring and school spirit. There is a great need for parental involvement. Both of my kids attended the school and the teachers are terrific!

Bad experience. Many of my neighbors relocated over the summer to avoid this school. Administrative staff are not involved until it’s too late, school isn’t STEM certified, students are extremely disruptive and bullying is a problem here
