Palmetto is a small suburb just a short drive from Atlanta with a low cost of living offering an affordable option for residents not far from a major city. Palmetto is conveniently located right off I-85 for quick access to and from Atlanta. It is located about a 30-minute drive from the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Palmetto is closest to the College Park MARTA rail station and is a 45-minute bus ride from that stop via MARTA bus 180.
Palmetto is served by the large Fulton County School District. In Palmetto specifically, there are three elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school.
Palmetto is a historic town, originated in the mid 1800s, with lots of old architecture and the original train depot which is now a museum and event space. There are two parks to enjoy the outdoors in Palmetto. Palmetto is also home to the Cochran Mill Nature Center, which is a gorgeous park with hiking paths and waterfalls.
