Grand Lake

The Grand Lake neighborhood is a diverse, cultural hub in Oakland. Situated along Lake Merritt, the neighborhood offers stunning views of the lake, a waterfront path, and a series of walking trails through the park. It is a fairly residential area, with many of the dining and entertainment options concentrated in the southwest corner of the neighborhood, near the water. The neighborhood holds widespread appeal and you'll find families, professionals, students, and musicians all living in the area. Over the past 30 years, the area has seen a major transformation due to its proximity to San Francisco. The neighborhood is conveniently located close to mass public transportation which makes it easy to commute via train or bus, and access to bridges and ferries make it easy to travel by car.
