Douglas F
I moved to Gunston Square in 2009. The board is made of resident volunteers elected by community residents at annual meetings. This community is an established, diverse neighborhood! Most of the townhomes here are 4 bedrooms, with 3.5 baths. Most area newer construction may have garage but only have 3bdrms., some have only 2.5 batrooms. This location is perfect for commute to Fort Belvoir, Quantico Marine base, DC, Tysons corners and all points around. Route 1 is around the corner, I95 is down the street. There are plenty of restaurants, markets, banks 3 to 5 mins. Drive or 15 mins walking. The Amtak car train loads and unloads at lorton for travel to florida. The Virginia railway Express is located 5 mins away, with commuter parking. Large outlet mall at Potomac mills is 10 to 15 mins south in Woodbridge. As well as additional banks, markets, department stores, home improvement stores. The Community Association takes their fiduciary responsibility very serious. Therefore we are constantly making improvements to community. Recently, installed energy efficient LED street lights, new playground equipment in one of the two community play areas and new fence to keep toddlers in play area, approx. 3 years ago had new paving for drive areas and resident parking. We are always looking for residents input for enhancements. We have use of another communities pool(3 to 5 min walk) tennis and basket ball courts as well as use of additional play areas. Through our architectural review process we ensure properties are maintained according to Association rules. This helps keep property values higher. We contract for lawn mowing one less headache, trash pickup 2 times a week and recycle once a week. We have community website through management company. We schedule spring and fall cleanup and in spring lawn company provides free mulch, the trash company donated both spring and fall a large dumpster to get rid of those broken unused items. The neighbors are great here, we all try to help each other. If you have any questions please contact Cardinal management and the board will get email to assist you. I am happy I decided to move here as retired/disabled veteran it is home! Come take a look!
