Best neighborhood for children in the city

Joseph W
I grew up in Chicago, envying my friends who lived in the Seminary neighborhood of Depaul Campus. It was private, so there was no traffic, filled with kids, and all the kids were outside playing with each other all the time. As an adult, I always hoped to find a similar neighborhood to raise my children, but I didn't know any modern embodiments of the Seminary. We moved to Hartland Park mostly because of the location. We didn't realize at the time, that it was the perfect neighborhood for children. My daughter and her friends are outside every day after school, playing hockey in the cul-du-sac alley. If not, they are riding their bikes on the private streets or playing basketball or playing in the private park. We have to force her to come in when the light is gone. We couldn't be happier with our neighborhood and our neighbors. My father always said it was better to be lucky than smart. We are lucky we found Hartland Park.
