Charter schools are off West Hunting Park Avenue. Several retailers, local eateries, afterschool programs, schools, and Esperanza College are off North 5th Street. The subway is accessible from the west end of the neighborhood.

Homes in Hunting Park are quite affordable compared to neighborhoods closer to Center City. Most of these residences are attached with two or three bedrooms. Midrange options offer a bit more space.

Hunting Park has plenty of great restaurants for comfort food as well as global cuisine. Choose from the neighborhood’s Italian, Dominican, Puerto Rican, halal, Colombian, and Chinese spots. There are plenty of casual eateries, take-out locales, and flavorful favorites. Tierra Colombiana Restaurant is an energetic Latin American space, serving Caribbean, Cuban, Ecuadorian, and Colombian fare. They’re open late and revered for their ceviche, empanadas, and steak.

The community gathers at the park for sporting events and picnics. Foodies seek out the area’s restaurants for culinary adventures. Throughout the week, students attend the neighborhood’s several charter schools. While the area has some properties in need of facelifts, the area has a lot of potential. Classic twin homes with bay windows are common in the area.

While the neighborhood isn’t known for nightlife, there are a few bars and dance clubs. Tierra Colombiana Restaurant also has a nightclub on its top floor. There are lounges with happy hour and late-night comfort food too. Check out West Hunting Park Avenue, West Bristol Street, and North 5th Street.

Weekends are the best time to go to Hunting Park for relaxation and recreation. They have food trucks, a playground, and grills. Many locals come out there for family gatherings and grill-outs. There’s also a tennis court, volleyball net, swimming pool, and basketball court.

The subway is easily accessed along Broad Street at the Hunting Park Station-BSL. You’ll be able to get in and out of Hunting Park with ease. SEPTA buses also run up and down Hunting Park Avenue.
