This school has failed our kids during this pandemic. They put them in breakout rooms on zoom & then kids are bullied because no teacher is there watching. They refuse to send them back in person even though there is little to no risk of in person. This school is a failure.
No one really watches the kids in this school, overcrowded classrooms
NBS is a good school but has room to improve. After stellar kindy and 1st grade experiences, we have had weaker teachers in 2nd and 3rd grades. I don't feel like my child has grown as much as I would have liked for the past year and a half. The principal is very engaging and the kids like him, but I find him to be a bit defensive when parents provide feedback. He also does not seem eager to respond to requests for special education services given the demands imposed on his staff. The long standing front office secretary could be kinder to parents and kids alike. The front office does not have a very welcoming atmosphere. I have had another child attend a different B220 elementary school and our experience there was very positive in comparison to NBS. The staff was more welcoming and eager to work with parents. Having said that, my child enjoys attending NBS and I am hopeful that the next two years will be better. I would encourage the principal to partner more readily with parents and earnestly listen to their concerns. Small steps could make NBS a more welcoming school for students and parents.
Phenomenal school, teachers are outstanding. Well rounded curriculum. Many extracurricular activities. All kids work on I-pads hence cutting edge exposure to technology. Can't begin to comprehend how anyone on this site could have given this school a negative review.
