Oak Lawn also has easy access to I-294 which makes getting around the southern suburbs a breeze.
Oak Lawn has a total of 35 schools, 17 of which are public schools that are within four separate districts: Chsd 218 School District, Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123, Ridgeland School District 122, and Oak Lawn Chsd 229 School District. Two highs schools that serve Oak Lawn and some of its neighboring towns are Oak Lawn Community High School and Harold L. Richards High School. Residents also have several options when it comes to college due to the handful of colleges that are within a few miles of Oak Lawn.
Oak Lawn offers a variety of events that happen throughout the year in every season, such as the Easter Egg Roll, 4th of July Parade, Summer Concert Series, and Fall on the Green. These events are suitable for all audiences and offer many attractions and entertainment opportunities.
