We moved to Plano, IL. for what we expected to be a temporary relocation in 2003 however, we stayed in Plano because of the schools and our daughters success within the district is proof positive that we made the right decision. I watched as the schools have changed for the better with the inclusion of IMSA's outreach program and an improved staff. My daughter will be graduating high school this summer and is already enrolled in her first choice university. The preparation of college level study provided by the District 88 staff is invaluable. AP classes are offered in a wide range of subjects and the schools dedication to widening the list of subjects has also proved invaluable. I will never regret our decision to stay in Plano for the benefit of our child's education.

We ve lived in the area for five years now and I like Plano School system because it cares about my child as a whole. He has really flourished since we ve move to the area. When my son was struggling academically they called a meeting with all his teacher and my husband and I to come up with a plan to help him be successful. Last year he was on the honor roll for the first time and it had a lot to do with the help of his teachers. The last school system we lived in was supposed to be one of the top schools in the state but they treated my son like he was a third year law student and not a six grader. I guess it depends on what you value for your kids.

This is more a reflect on all of the schools, mainly the middle school and high school. My daughter had learned the same exact math for 2 years in a row after passing it with an A the first time. The curriculum is so screwed up and the majority of children that I have encountered in the town are careless and rude. We moved our daughter out of the district before her first year of high school started. She needs to be challenged more and Plano just does not offer that. Not to mention Plano has more 1/2 days and days off than any other town I have ever heard of which is OUTRAGEOUS. If I could give Plano a whopping 0 stars, I would. My daughter dealt with being bullied and it took her months to get the teachers to actually do something about it which is far too long. The teachers were careless and rude and never kept in contact in a timely manner. Ridiculous to say the least.
