I rate this school a zero out of ten for it's safe environment and education.

I am a graduate of this same school, and I am appalled at how far the educational quality has fallen. Movies are now a staple in multiple classrooms, bullying is a huge issue, and communication from staff is nearly non-existent. I do not recommend my own alma mater to anyone and have chosen to remove two other students from the district as a result of the poor quality. Serious improvements need to be done in regards to curriculum, teaching methods, and the handling of bullying issues before I will even consider telling people to enroll their students here.

PHS administration and staff are open to communication from the community and its parents. The teaching staff is held to high standards by its administration. I would recommend PHS's academics and extracurricular to any incoming family.

I am unsure to who is providing the previous posts but they are not objective or accurate, Looking at the overall school ratings as compared to the rest of the State of IL it demonstrates what can happen with Administration takes pride in staff development. 5 years ago the staff seemed less motivated to address the needs of all socioeconomic groups in PHS. Since the change in Administration staffing in that timeframe all groups have grown with testing levels and achievements. High School graduates are prepared for all levels of college with half going to community college and the other half attending 4-year schools or greater. Numerous kids have been assisted to the IVY leagues via the current PHS staff. AMAZING STAFF AND EFFORT in a lackluster state.
