I only voted this school one star because zero stars was not an option! First, I want to state that recess was taken away from the students this year. This doesn't make sense because the students already have a 40 minute study hall, in the time where students should be having recess they sit in the cafeteria, wasting class time. This is a waste of time where students could be learning, this could help raise the low test scores. There is also a lack of activities and athletics, I wish I lived in the Wilkins' district, where there is a variety of athletics and activities. I should not have to move to ensure that my children receive a high education. This is garbage! My daughter (which is a straight-A student, no lie) has said that the principal invades the privacy of the students and raids their lockers and bags looking for drugs, the police should be called in this situation! The educational content is something that students should have learned 3 years ago. I think more activities should be added, this would also cause the school's drug problem to decrease. 1200 characters is not enough to show how much I hate this school! If you can afford a private school please send them there.

This school is lacking in various departments. My child is 12 and a straight A student. However, I believe the curriculum is not challenging the children. They are learning material that should be taught in fourth grade and my child is in 6th grade. My daughter complains that many of the teachers are unorganized (this coming from a 12yr old) and some do not genuinely care about the kids. They have 1- 40 min study hall which I do not believe is necessary for 6th graders and every Wednesday they have a late start (9am normal start time is 8:45). So every week my child is learning about 10 hours less than the normal 6th grader which angers me very much. The principal needs to find a better strategy on motivating his teachers because some look like they don't even want to be there come parent/teacher night. I know it is not entirely the school's fault, but our entire educational system as a whole. The neighborhood is lower working class, but that does not mean that our kids deserve lower standard teaching either. If you can send your child to another school, I urge you to do so. It shouldn't be hard to find one above a 4 in ranking.
