A Perfect Sunday
James Island County Park is where it’s at. The park offers open meadows, fishing and crabbing spots, a dog park, paved trails for biking and walking, picnic areas and more. The park also hosts a handful of events, including the annual Holiday Festival of Lights, music festivals, and marathons. Residents are only a short drive from Folly Beach, home to restaurants, camping spots, and plenty of water activities and rentals.
You’ll very likely need a car or two for your family here on James Island. Though certain areas are walkable, you’ll probably want to island-hop or head to Charleston every now and then. There’s no shortage of parking and space, so load up your vehicles and bring the whole crew down.
