I renovate day home her and while I love my house, the neighborhood homeowners association is honestly unbearable and makes me regret buying my home here. There is also hardly any visitor parking and residents cannot park there either. Streets are super narrow so now parking in the street. The homeowner’s association send mail regularly harassing residents over minor things. The fees are like $340.00 a year for absolutely NO amenities. They don’t even hardly decorate for Christmas, and their front neighborhood sign always seems to have a passive aggressive message making me feel even more unwelcome. We built a paver driveway as we saw others in the neighborhood had done because I needed 3 parking spots at my house including inside the garage. Otherwise where else is my family supposed to park our 3rd vehicle? The street outside the neighborhood where I’ve seen cats obliterated or broken into overnight? No, just no. We had a hearing with the board of directors about the driveway as the bylaws only said driveways can be constructed by concrete which concrete pavers fit that description. They never got back to us. Now a year later, they send 2 letters on the same day saying our driveway request was denied based on updated bilaws that they are now trying to rectroactivly enforce. We will be getting a lawyer. This makes this neighborhood a place to stay far away from if possible.
