To say Lake Barrington Shores is an active community is an understatement. The community's events calendar is packed with a robust array of daily, weekly and special events. Anyone interested in fitness, sports, civic participation, hobbies, or just entertainment has a full menu to choose from. Exercise and fitness activities are usually held at the clubhouse and include Zumba, water aerobics, tai chi and several types of yoga. The sports park sees a great deal of activity. The Lake Barrington Shores Tennis Association holds a number of competitions and drop-in casual play throughout the summer. The pickleball and bocce courts are hosts to organized play several times a week. Golfers should have no problem finding a foursome to join. There are several friendly men's and women's golf leagues at Lake Barrington Shores. The community takes full advantage of having its own gorgeous lake. There's open sailing on Saturdays and sail races on Sundays. Children and adults can take fishing lessons from the community's very own instructor. Many of Lake Barrington Shores' summer events, like concerts and festivals, are held on the shores of the lake. There are just too many clubs to list. Clubs dedicated to games include bridge, mah jong, table tennis and bowling, just to name a few. A veteran's group is very active in its efforts to help fellow veterans. Book lovers, seamstresses and gardeners have their own clubs as well.
