Lakeland

Lakeland is a community of approximately 600 homes located three miles east of the South Freeway. The area has grown rapidly thanks to its proximity to Houston and many popular local attractions. It’s less than a 40-minute commute to the Medical Center and Downtown Houston, making it easy for residents who work in these areas. Also, the beaches of Galveston, the Kemah Boardwalk, and NASA are less than an hour’s drive away, providing homeowners with plenty of entertainment and attractions close to home. Manvel Junior High and Manvel High School are just outside of Lakeland and share an impressive campus. They’re part of the Alvin Independent School District (AISD), which has earned multiple awards from the state for excellence in academics and administration. EC Mason Elementary, also an AISD school, is the closest elementary school to Lakeland. Just a few minutes away is a large shopping and entertainment hub in Pearland, featuring dozens of restaurants, a large movie theater, and major retailers. The towns of Manvel and Alvin also offer a full array of youth sports and programs, which allows residents to maintain an active and social lifestyle.
