Leimert Park, built as a self-sufficient community in the 1920's, is a tiny suburban enclave, just off of Crenshaw Boulevard. The neighborhood is filled with Spanish colonial revival homes and bungalows in eastern Leimert and along Degnan. You can bring the whole family to attend and participate in the live drum session in Leimert Plaza Park on Leimert Boulevard. Take your family or friends to visit one of the cultural art centers or art galleries on Degnan Boulevard and 43rd Street. Go for a hike at the nearby State Park with five miles of trails, a fishing lake, lotus pond, and a community center.
