Awesome neighborhood with sense of pride
I'm a new home owner/resident to Maxwell Park, and think this is one of Oakland's best kept secrets. The rolling hills provide a nice back drop to the neighborhood offering great views. There is a great sense of community and pride in this small enclave. There are block parties throughout the year, and very friendly neighbors. The diverse neighborhood includes people that have lived in the area from a year to 25 years plus. Great for professionals, new families and singles, it is close to freeways, bus lines and Fruitvale Bart. The neighborhood is centrally located, a 5-15 minute ride to most everything needed: grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, gyms, nightlife and more. Nearby on High Street includes a Walgreens, dry cleaners, donut shops, taquerias, and some restaurants. Commuting to downtown Oakland or SF is very easy. The neighborhood is very walkable and great for pets. I would highly recommend anyone looking to settle in Oakland to check out this amazing neighborhood.
