I am a student at Bloomfield Hills Middle School. This school was pretty good before the covid-19 pandemic. After that, it has been disappointing. Classes have been starting late, and ending over 20 minutes earlier than scheduled. Secondly, some, not all, teachers have been taking advantage of this online learning and have been canceling their classes, and doing asynchronous work, or like I said, ending class early, which has been happening with my core classes. I am a bit disappointed on how the teachers can't fully use their class time to teach, and how some teachers have been really lazy with this. Secondly, the administration. It is decent, and they are VERY nice to everyone, a very good upside. Although the administration is very friendly, sometimes they don't take action on events happening at the school, or don't event get back to you if you reach out. Lastly, in person learning during covid. We did this for a short period of time. I was very disappointed to see that some teachers were taking their masks down, almost for whole class periods. One time, a teacher had his/her mask down, and they put it back up when the principal walked by, then took it down again! The schools handling of covid was terrible, lets just say. Now dont get me wrong, the school isn't terrible. All of the staff is extremely friendly, and when the teachers are fully engaged, they teach really well. I would recommend this school to someone looking, but I could see people switching to private because of their handling on covid. Like I said, the school is not terrible, they just need to work on admin taking action on things, and their handling of covid.

The teachers are extremely kind. They care deeply about the students not only academics but on a personal level too. They want their students to get good grades and are not stand-offish. BHMS also has bullying programs to ensure kindness throughout the school. The lessons are fun but also educational. The electives teacher are absolutely amazing at what they do. They are all very skilled in their own subject and do a good job of teaching it to others. The arts program is also amazing. Especially drama. Mrs.Bogrette is a one of a kind teacher that knows how to spot talent. Extremely funny and easy to talk to. Helps quieter kids come out of their shell. Out of all four of my years at BHMS I have been supportived by the staff members and encouraged to get good grades. The only complaint about this school is 8th grade science teacher Mr.Watters. He dislikes anyone with a decent social life and favors the outcast instead of starting everyone off completely equal like all the other teachers do. He is an exception though. The students there are easy to talk to and very minimal bullying.

I was worried about the 5th graders being too young and they are doing very well.
