This school gave me a place I felt like I belonged. They have so many opportunities for students to get involved between the arts, sports, service such as NHS, or academic clubs. The wide range of electives, CTE/college prep offered let me explore my interests and help me figure out what I wanted to do with my life. They offer something over 25(?) AP courses which is great for students to earn college credit early at a reduced cost. Many teachers clearly cared a lot about students and gave their all in our classrooms. My counselor pushed me to apply to colleges and walked me through the process when I was unsure of what types of programs I was interested in. The school had their fair share of behavior issues and the fighting was a little much at times but the numerous things offered by this school and the great educator students make it a great place. I owe a lot to this school for getting me to where I am today.

I just don’t understand how these schools sweep everything under the rug

Came from an International School in Dubai for my Senior year, and I have to say, you simply can't put a price tag on education. My senior year at Crestwood HS topped everything I did in my previous IB school. When I was applying to UM-AA my teachers from Dubai that taught me for years were too lazy to write me a recommendation, yet my AP teachers at Crestwood were very willing, despite only knowing me for two months. I ended up getting a 30 on the ACT and a 4.6 that year due to the help I received from my teachers and counselor. I ran Cross Country and was made a captain for the Track team that year as well, making All-League in the 800m. It was truly a swell year! I can't wait till my brother starts going here! :P

I had to pull my son out of school and place in a private school because the teachers had no idea of what they were teaching. I had point out from the book that they were using and then provide documentation of my own to demonstrate where the instruction was flawed. Heaven help our children if Crestwood is any indication of the level of education they are received.
