Very good school. Well organized and strong attempts at communication to the community (students and parents). However, teachers do vary a lot in expectations. It is a tough lesson for 12&13 year olds to navigate. My sons math teacher allows occasional retakes on exams. Ok fine. However their are two other math teachers who allow unlimited retakes. Their are Math and English classes where students are less challenged and get A's and other classes where the students are really worked hard with no safety net (retake system). It is a bit unfair, absolutely. I would be concerned if it were high school. It is obvious easier to get good grades if you can keep taking the test or keep redoing assignments until they get an A. At this age what is the better lesson, I don't know but student experiences absolutely vary wildly depending on who the teachers are.

First, let me say that the administration at Mill Creek is second to none. The principal, assistant principal and school counselor are amazing, terrific people who will really advocate for your kids. I know that my son will probably never be in another school with leadership like this. The only reason I give the school less than five stars is because some of the academics could be stronger. There's too much reliance on video/power point presentations in teaching hard subjects like math and science. The teachers seem pretty distant to me, and are not easy to communicate with about an individual student's progress. That said, I think they mean well. I wish there was more diversity in the school population, but that's not the school's fault, and it didn't inform my rating. Overall, a great school with a few areas for improvement.
