My child had a bad experience at this school. She faced bullying and harassment from students and staff, however, the school is always clean and maintained. This school did not make my child feel welcome, however the school was effective at teaching my child according to the state standards. Overall, the atmosphere of the school reflects its small town location in both positive and negative ways.

The school district in this small community has managed its' funds well for years. Two examples are their nice facilities and their current construction project. The second example stands out because most other school districts in Michigan have mismanaged their finances and are cutting necessary staff. In spite of all of this, this is just a common public school. They obviously spend too much time teaching the religion of evolution that only a few ignorant people still believe. They need to spend more time helping students improve the poor grammar that has become acceptable at school because year after year, teachers have lowered standards in response to students' whining and state department pressure. Look at the review posted on September 9, 2003. Do you think that is a public school graduate? Private schools continue to churn out model citizens who are intelligent. Maybe we should rethink what we want for our children. If every parent got a tax break and a voucher and a choice of where to send their child, how many 'public' schools would survive? I think about this every day, and so should every parent. Let's make our children work harder, not their teachers.

Excellent teachers, very involved principal, strong academic program with caring staff teaching values as well as abc's.
