I agree with the parents and students below who rated this school as acceptable if your child has no special education needs. The idea of inclusion is given lip service but not always practiced unless you are a vigilant parent. If you child is challenging, expect the staff to recommend she/he be sent out of the district to other districts for their special programs, which in reality are more restrictive settings and are located in academically inferior districts. They wish to be rid of challenging children and not enact real IEPs with interventions that actually can be implemented. Do not make the decision to move your child in haste. Learn your rights under IDEA law. As the posters below attest, it is a decision that can damage your child's self esteem and future.

This is a great school , if your child is average to above average. My son has autism and we had a rough time last year. My daughter went through the school with no problems at all, We are hoping for a better year with my son this year, but are not holding our breath.

Three of my children have attended Meridian. An excellent teaching staff and engaged group of parents have created a wonderful environment. When your kids WANT to go to School, you know you made the right choice. That has been our experience at Meridian Elementary...

I actually went to said school when I was younger. I have ADHD, and was having trouble in class. The administrator's and teacher's solution was to kick me out because they didn't want to deal with it. Thankfully my father is an attorney and reminded them that the American Disabilities Act prevents them from kicking me out. Despite their reluctance I was allowed to continue to attend school there. To be clear, the teachers are nice, but that doesn't always mean they care.
