Elva Lynch Elementary School

Lynch is a great school. My kids have been attending for 5 years. Teachers are top notch and care about their students. PTC is very involved and activities are fun for the entire family. Lynch has after school enrichment programs that provide fun and learning opportunities for students. Great school and learning atmosphere.

My child has been attending Lynch for the past 2 years and so far I am not very impressed. I do not like the way they handle things. Teachers don't care about the students. They refuse to look into getting special ed. help for my adhd child. Parking lot is a joke, so unsafe. No communication from the school at all, unless they are calling to tell me my child did something wrong. I am seriously thinking about pulling my child out and enrolling in a different school.

I am posting two reviews, as I wasn't allowed enough characters in my last review to acknowledge the many things I loved about Elva Lynch Elementary. Although I pulled my son out of this school for academic reasons, let me just say, the parental involvement is fantastic at this school. There were many special events, award ceremonies, fundraisers, etc. It was nice being involved in a community of caring parents who were gladly willing to sacrifice many hours of their personal time to support our children's school. I would also like to acknowledge the long hours put in by many teachers, week after week. Elva Lynch has some very talented and dedicated teachers among its staff. I believe most of the teachers and faculty (and parents) at Elva Lynch are doing their best, with the resources and liberties they are provided. My concerns should have been resolved at a supervisory level, but they weren't. Overall, I would say Elva Lynch is a good place for children to acquire a decent education, given you are a proactive parent willing to supplement your child's education, as necessary.

I understand how important reading is, I do and am all for it. On the other hand, how many parents have had trouble, themselves in math in school?? I did. My daughter is in kindergarten and reads fine. Math is hardly discussed in her class, very breifly everyday. I do more at home with her for math. I wrote and email to the teacher and never got a response. I am kind of dissappointed with Lynch.Reading is something, like tying your shoes, practice makes perfect. but you can't force it. Math takes time and practice.
