This school is absolutely the worst school in the Oxford School district. They allow their teachers to have several different methods of staying in contact with parents, they do not practice the same methods from one teacher to the other. They allow certain teachers to not give homework all year and then have other teachers do so. Thisbecomes a problem when a student has a teacher that gives no homework all year and then goes into the next year with homework every evening. The school is inconsistent with its techniques. They do not hold staff responsible for judging character and allow staff to be rude, inconsiderate and judge parents characters. Donna Burton, administrator assistant should have been fired years ago. She is consistently rude to parents, passes judgment, is inconsiderate to students and only cares about herself.

Overall I have been very impressed with both the Principal and the teachers. I have found both to be assertive, yet kind. The organization in the school is apparent and I have seen apparent growth in all areas from my child.

Lakeville Elementary School has a caring environment that is nurturing and non competitive. It has a family atmosphere that makes both the parent and student feel comfortable and welcome. It is also very safe and clean. The Principal is a great role model and she projects a positive attitude and a fun loving nature, while at the same time commanding respect. The students feel like they are genuinely cared about and that they come first, which is the way it should be at every school. Camaraderie is encouraged and therefore groups or cliques among the students are not as prevalent as they are at other schools. This is an ideal environment that makes for a happy student. And a happy student equates to happy parents! I know there are other elementary schools in the district with a better reputation and I can say, from experience, that I would choose this school over any other without hesitation!

I feel this is a really good school. I have one child that went to this school from 1st thru 5th grade. Now my second child started in kindergarten and is now in second grade. In the 7 years I have had children in this school I would have to say they have been great. There was one teacher "my oldest child's 2nd grade teacher" I didn't like at all. Parent teacher conferences were awful she treated me like I was not important enough to talk to and rushed me though the meeting. But that teacher is no longer there and all other teachers have been great.
