When I attended this school it was mediocre at best. I had some teachers who did care about me and how well I was doing in the class but I also had some who only cared about their record or just didn’t care how I was doing in the class. I also had some teachers who were cold and obviously didn’t want to be teaching. Food was horrible and the principals at the time were a joke and no one took them seriously. There were also a few teachers who acted as if they were teaching to elementary schoolers instead of middle schoolers

VH is an amazing school for academics, clubs, sports, and has a great building culture. Their scores are exceptional and the staff really cares about students and follows up with every concern immediately. I am very pleased with this school and would highly recommend it to anyone.

We have been extremely pleased with our experiences at Van Hoosen! The teachers are amazing and use many creative methods to teach kids. Rochester Schools has some of the best schools in the state of Michigan and Van Hoosen ranks among the top recently noted with National Blue Ribbon distinction. Any questions we have had are promptly responded to and the administrators are very warm and welcoming and very supportive. I've been very impressed with the culture of Van Hoosen and the high level of involvement of the PTA.
