Gearing Elementary School

My daughter just started kindergarten this year. So far I have been really pleased with it. My boyfriends son attended the early on program that moved to Gearing last year and he loved it. My daughter loves her teacher and I feel comfort for her when she is at school. I love how gearing has the WATCH DOG program as well. That made me very happy seeing fathers have their own program to participate in their children's education.

Gearing is a terrific school. They do alot to engage the children in the community and with each other. The teachers genuinely care about the kids, but there are a few teachers who could communicate more effectively with parents. Academically my daughters' progress has been fantastic. The principal encourages the students to be respectful and take responsibility for their actions. There is an emphasis on teaching the chidren to be organized. Every month there seems to be an activity for the family. My only complaint is few oppportunities for working parents to be involved.
