The scout parents are great...however...I have to reiterate what the parent said in the May 2015 review. That is exactly how my child felt at that school...to a tee! She was excluded, teacher told kids to tattle on her, her teacher ignored her questions and yelled at her...the principal yelled at her for no reason either...and admitted it. To an adult, it is raising their voice..to a child it is yelling. My daughter has been in the district for seven years and loved school...until now. We switched schools and before she was excited..now she is scared and anxious that something like this will happen again. The reason I wrote this as the same principal and same teacher are still there...despite what they have done to my daughter. I am appalled. My daughter's academics are above average in everything...until this past year where her scores stagnated....she would cry and not want to go...In a few years, I need to figure out where to send my youngest daughter for kindergarten. If changes are not made, I will not be sending my daughter here. There are standout schools in this district, but Schoolcraft is not one of them.

I had written another review, but I don't see it posted, so I will write this again; I have considerable experience with Schoolcraft elementary school. I had a child leave this school in 2006 after attending all of grade school. Back then, it was a reasonably good school (except for the ESL part - read the other review). We now have a child four years into this school. I would not recommend this school to any parent who is serious about their child's education. They make excuses and give reason to the children who are disruptive and hold back those who could move ahead. The teachers and principal clearly have their favorites and if you're not one of them, your child will be left out, excluded. This school has a huge issue with bullying that has not been addressed in the last four years that we've had our younger child here. My child is also afraid he won't be believed or even punished if he tells the teacher about the bullying - it all happens on the playground when no one is watching! Torn clothing, bruises. We will be shipping out as this school refuses to shape up. Signed, A Disappointed Parent.

This is the second year at Schoolcraft for my children after Grayson closed. I think the staff is wonderful. My children are learning at their own level and I always get a prompt reply when I contact teachers. Sometimes the classes are large, but that's to be expected when the district has school closures. I feel that my children are very safe there. It's nice to know that people are not allowed to roam the building while the childen are in school, even at lunch and recess times. Any bullying concerns they bring up with staff are addressed immediately.

This school has a variety of good things going for it. My child started Fall 2011 in 2nd grade. Since then, I have noticed that hey have a number of programs for the children, a substantial library, and an orderly way about them. The bad part is the staff. I tried to visit my child at lunch, and was hurridly rushed out by the teacher, who proceeded to to eye me disapprovingly. The cafeteria staff were extremely rude, and although seats were available, did not allow me to sit with my child. The office remains yet to be useful, and has given me innacurate bus routes and vague instructions on how the buses are arranged. My child has also had bullying issues. I have called and confronted the teacher multiple times, with no results. There is little individual attention paid to the kids, and she "does not tolerate lying," and also plays favorites. My child is afraid to tell about the bullying because he knows she won't believe him. He has also been blamed for breaking things with no evidence or even background story, demanding we pay for it and none else (although other children have been involved in the stories told by my son and the teacher). I am very disappointed.
