The last reviewer really nailed it: mediocre teaching and counseling; bullying that is not just ignored by the administrators and the school district but is actually perpetuated by the adult staff members; horrible drug problem (kids see drug deals in the hallway right after the drug dogs leave, but the principal says school is drug free); athletics program is corrupt with coaches mistreating kids and breaking all rules just to win (which they rarely do).

I have two kids at LHS and it has been a big dissapointment for numerous reasons. 1) Instructional quality is mediocre at best. Kids report many free hours, movie days, and boring down-time during designated instructional time, which seems to go unchecked by the administration year after year. 2) Bullying runs rampant at this school and there is no effective program in place that counters the problem. Reports of incidents to administrators have been met with lip-service and zero follow-up, and even condescension and rudeness. 3) The building is generally dirty and falling into disrepair, which reflects the overall school culture, but is also the fault of an indiffferent community of non-supportive voters who vote 'no' for millage renewals, bond issues, and sinking fund creation. The only thing that seems to be truly valued and celebrated by staff and administration is athletics, and considering the poor success rate of most LHS teams and clubs one might wonder why. Huron Valley Schools, where mediocrity is good enough for us. Time to send my kids to Walled Lake schools.
