Buyers beware! We purchased our home because of the beautiful description found online. We moved here from another state. We visited, and found the grounds and homes to be as beautiful as portrayed online. Our first night spent in our new home, we were welcomed by a parking ticket from the HOA. My son who was visiting the following month was stopped on several occasions and questioned as to why he was here. Very intrusive questions - including “do you work here?” My son is college educated and clean cut. He is, in short, a very respectable young man. My husband was provided a company pick up - no decals or ads on this new $40k pick up. We have been harassed and served with cease and desist papers for parking our truck in our assigned parking spot. These are a few examples of how this exclusive community treats its homeowners. Had we only known prior to purchase how intolerant , prejudiced, and judgmental this HOA is, we certainly would have found a different community to move into. Our money (we paid full cash price) could certainly have afforded us a community that would be glad to welcome us as a hardworking couple preparing to retire quietly, enjoying the beaches and sunsets that only Florida has to offer.
