This school has a lot to do if they want to actually make an impact on their student's lives. Their lack of empathy, compassion, inclusion and their duty to teach young minds is overhwleming to me, and many of my fellow students who attended.

On a scale of 1-5, 5 meaning excellent, I would say a 1 because my experience was horrible. Teachers didn't seam to care if I passed or failed and I never received proper help. I received horrible bullying from students and adults that even resulted in Physical Bodily Harm, I reported the incidents and nothing was done, in fact they got worse. I suffered from a deep state of depression. Because of all this my grades were poor. My mother transferred me to a Wonderful Program at AB Tech called AB Middle College. I went from making C's and D's at Erwin to Straight A's at my new school along with recognition with 2 Award "Most improved in Math" and "Best Attitude". I also received a Metal from my new school. I know I would have never been shown such recognition if I stayed at Erwin. I also would like to say that not everyone has experienced what I have. With that being said, no one is treated equally at Clyde A Erwin High School.

I just saw the review from a parent posted Jan. 27, 2014 which mentioned the lack of resources to support her student. The YMCA Horizon tutoring and mentoring after school is a great resource and is grant-funded... so FREE to all the Erwin Middle families! Sorry that they didn't realize that.Erwin has taken huge strides over the last 7+ years with the Y program being one example. The last year and a half, Erwin has been partnering with the United Way to create a Community School model through their Middle School Success Initiative. Erwin has a full-time Community Resource Coordinator with a Social Work intern from Western dedicated to supporting community engagement at Erwin through building a framework of partnerships which address student and family needs, academic and beyond. The Erwin administration are very supportive of collaborations like this and the YMCA. It takes a village... right?!
