I would say that my experience at the school had been a positive experience. I've made a lot of amazing friends that I'm likely to be friends with for the rest of my life. Most of the teachers are always there to listen to the students for feedback or a concern. They truly care about the students and good behavior is strongly encouraged and is rewarded. Recently a RAMS motto was implemented meaning "Respect all, manage self" which means to be nice to everyone and considerate to what they're doing while managing yourself and making sure you're being a positive student. If you take honors English classes you are expected to read pre-determined books over the summer which is something some honors students don't realize at first. Ms. Galbert, a biology teacher is probably the best teacher you'll ever meet anywhere, she's extremely nice, caring, comedic and she only teaches you what you need to know. Some kids think biology is a hard class but if you have her it becomes so much more fun and easy. I'd recommend

I have one child who has graduated and another now in his junior year at TCR. I teach Algebra at another Buncombe County high school. My children attend their home school rather than mine because put simply, TCR is tops when it comes to education and their sports programs are all top notch. People on here are mentioning drugs so I will address this issue, EVERY high school in America has a problem with drugs. Teach your children to say NO, be a positive support system for them. Parents need to be involved in their students activities, which brings up of course ENCOURAGE your children to become involved in clubs, music or sports and please please please attend their concerts and games.....a non committed parent often leads to a non committed student. TCR has a top of the line administration, their principle goes above and beyond her duties. Buncombe County has many great choices for education when it comes to safety TCR is one of the top, check out the local PD and ask for reports on each school.

My son is a junior at TC and he has thrived so far. I expect him to get accepted to most colleges he applies to and to receive at least some partial scholarships. Almost all of the teachers he has had have been willing to let him come in early and/or stay late when he needed extra help. My son says that there are a lot of clicks but no bullying. This school is great if your child has the will to succeed!
