On balance it hasn't been horrible, but it's certainly not welcoming. Would like to have the opportunity to sit with the school leadership and talk over the things they don't seem to see and therefore can't address. Parents and students see things in a light that is different from the leadership - therefore they aren't even aware of the small things that could immensely improve the channels of communications with parents and students.

I feel that the staff currently employed in this school are unreliable. My daughter has had extreme trouble with bullying. It took me 5 weeks to get in contact with the counselors. They spoke to my daughter FIVE WEEKS after I got into contact with them. The sheer ridiculousness of this school drives me insane. I highly suggest that you enroll your child into another school, as long as it is not this one. My daughter is now struggling with depression and anxiety because of the fact that all of the students at this school show no respect for anyone, and continue to bully and throw shade at other students, even though they have done nothing to them. The staff is irresponsible. My daughter struggles to maintain her grades due to the ineffective teaching of the staff. There are few teachers that take their job seriously and actually TEACH the students. Overall, the experience I've had at this school is that of a disgusting one.

EMGS is not concerned with students reaching their full potential. My oldest child has been on the honor roll since he first started school.. He has maintained a 3.75 or higher Gpa and was inducted into the honor society. That being said, he was moved from his advance classes to general classes at the start if 7th grade this year. I honestly don't see how his grades could be any better than Straight A's. Along with the placement problems, my son, along with half of his class was moved from their math class with Mr. Reed this year to another teachers classroom. My son has complained about his new teacher since he was moved, and his grade reflects the change. He has gone from an A, to a b, and now he's working on pulling up a C he had on his progress report. When he told the teacher of his concerns, she said, don't blame me, you're probably not paying attention? Ok, regardless of the fact that he has an A in all of his other classes and had an A in math before being moved to her class - how is avoiding responsibility helping him?

My daughter is a sixth grader at EGMS, and she absolutely loves it! Her grades are outstanding and she is learning a lot. Her teachers are always in constant contact with the parents and students. I feel like if I have an issue, I can call or email teachers or administration and get a quick response.
