Burns Middle School is a very unique school because the teachers, Principal and Vice-Principal go the extra mile for each student. I am a grandmother to a 12 year old child and I know that I tolerate her attitude most of the time. I know that growing into adulthood isn't easy, but when I child takes "her" attitude to school and does things at school that she is told not to do at home, that is where we lock horns. If a child is an "A" student at school and can remember things that she has learned in class for a test. There is something wrong when she is away from school and can't "remember" anything she is told not to do; does things, apologizes for doing them and days later forgets and does it again. No, you can't put the blame on the teachers or anyone else. When you have to keep repeating yourself to a child this age to do things she should know to do because of being around other young teens and not be offensive or offend, annoy something is dreadfully wrong. In my day, when we got home we got taken to the woodshed. You are not allowed to do this now.........now, they are told, "Honey don't do that". Teachers everywhere earn what they are paid and the principals. Me, I wouldn't have that job. My granddaughter loves to test people, she knows how to fake crying and does so to get her way. She has said this to me. She said in front of others that if Plan A doesn't work with me, she will use Plan B. Now, I know the tricks she uses and she tells on herself every time.

burns is an amazing school. I have only had a few problems with them. I can't always be at school and so the principal has figured ways out that I can still be active with the school. they have taken the dress code way to far. I once wore leggings with a shirt, it covered my butt but apparently it had to cover my front side. then a few days later I wore a outfit and it was leggings and a shirt that covered my front and back and I got in trouble. I just don't know what they expect me to wear then. leggings is really all I have that fits me now. but otherwise an amazing school

Ever since I had started to complain about the bullying that gose on the bus and in the school the staff at Burns middle school has made my child out to be the troubled child and Burns high school, who is in charge of the school buses refuse to turn over information to press charges on other students who has slaped and broke my childs glasses on the bus.
