My experience at this school has been excellent. PS, that 'principal' that someone mentions below, who was shipped down from Mecklenburg County, and quickly 'hauled off to jail' after her apparent misappropriation of funds. All our other principals have been so good they send them to poorer performing schools to help them.

Both my kids attended Weddington high school and had a great learning experience. I also volunteered in the front office and will tell you that the kids at this school are polite and respectful. The kids care about their academic performance but are also down to earth. I found Weddington to be a very balanced place for my kids. The other thing to know, is that alot of the kids have moved into the area so they know what it is like to be "the new kid". The high school has a new principal so don't let one bad one who was here for less than six months scare you away.

The educational experience has been very good for my rising senior. Challenging courses, great teachers, excellent principal, etc.It is the GUIDANCE DEPT. that is severely lacking. Clearly they have forgotten what they are there for and always seem bothered when help is needed. The only positive in the dept. is Ms. Bowers and Mr. Mccluskey the head of the dept. For the past 3 years all that we have heard was they were too busy helping the seniors, now my student is a senior and is being told to wait. Sadly they are needed in order to get transcripts and information for college. Better off doing your due diligence yourself.
